Understand what is getting in the way

Difficulty staying organized, following through, or managing time can affect school, work, and relationships. ADHD can be part of that picture, but an evaluation looks beyond a symptom checklist.

Yarrow offers psychiatric evaluation and medication management for people exploring ADHD concerns and those revisiting an existing diagnosis or treatment plan.

What to expect at your first visit

Your first appointment is a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation. We review your current concerns, medical and mental health history, previous treatment, and goals. For ADHD concerns, the history of symptoms and their effect across different parts of life matter.

Bring a current medication list and any prior evaluation or treatment information you have. Contact the practice for instructions on sharing records securely. You do not need to have all the answers before asking for help.

Is it ADHD, anxiety, or a sleep problem?

Difficulty concentrating can occur with ADHD, anxiety, depression, or sleep problems. More than one can be present. At Yarrow, we review when symptoms began, how they affect school, work, and home life, and other possible explanations. Your sleep, mood, medical history, and previous treatment help inform that discussion. You do not need to know the diagnosis before requesting an evaluation.

Medication care that fits daily life

When medication is appropriate, follow-up visits provide time to review benefit, side effects, and how the treatment plan is working in everyday life. If earlier medications have not helped or have been difficult to tolerate, we can take a closer look at that history.

Diagnosis and prescribing decisions are individualized. Scheduling an evaluation does not guarantee a particular diagnosis or prescription.

Can I keep seeing my therapist?

Yes. Yarrow focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management, not ongoing psychotherapy. With appropriate authorization, Kathryn can coordinate clinically relevant care with your therapist or other treating clinicians.
