Room to talk about the whole picture
OCD can involve unwanted intrusive thoughts, repeated behaviors, or mental rituals that take time and interfere with daily life. It is more than a preference for order. You can bring questions or concerns about these experiences to an evaluation, even if you are unsure how to describe them.
Yarrow provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic clarification, and medication management, including review of an existing treatment plan.
What happens at an evaluation?
The first visit is a 60-minute appointment to review your concerns, medical and mental health history, previous care, and goals. We discuss diagnostic impressions and treatment options, including medication when appropriate.
If you have tried medication before, information about what helped, what did not, and any side effects can make that discussion more useful. Contact the practice for a secure way to share prior records.
Medication follow-up
Follow-up appointments provide time to review symptoms, medication benefit, tolerability, and whether changes are needed. Treatment decisions are individualized; an appointment does not guarantee a specific diagnosis, prescription, or outcome.
Medication care alongside ERP therapy
Exposure and response prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based therapy used for OCD. Medication and therapy may each have a role in a treatment plan.
Yarrow provides medication care, not ongoing psychotherapy or ERP sessions. If you already work with an ERP therapist or another treating clinician, Kathryn welcomes clinically relevant coordination with appropriate authorization. Your therapy relationship can continue while medication care is addressed here.
